We have one small public library. Has anyone seen the Johnson County public library? It looks like a mall from the outside. Lawrence can't compete, we suck. Come to think of it, we don't even have a mall!!! Suck times two.

This is cool however: most libraries will BUY new books you want. It's called a "Book Buy Request" at the Lawrence library. It takes a month or two to fill the request; not bad, considering it's free. Laz, doesn't your library do this? I swear most library have this "book buy" thing.

Lucas, all libraries do that. If they don't have it, and there's a reasonable demand and it's not rare or out of print, they'll hook you up. You can also request any book that any library in the entire world has through Inter-Library Loan. You check it out, read it, return it to your local library, and they send it back to Vienna or whatever. You can do it with music too! Just think!
ps. Libraries, even ones that do not resemble malls, are cool as hell.
