Where do you go for cheap vegetarian food in KC? Right now I'm partial to BLUE NILE CAFE in the Rivermarket (20 E 5th St). Try the fosolia. It's a tasty dish with string beans, carrots, onions, and potatoes. The portions aren't huge or anything, but they always serve the food with lots of injera (the spongy bread) so you'll get full. The lunch menu in fucking CHEAP too. $5.25. After 2pm stuff is a few bucks more.

We should start having potlucks more regularly! My vegan lasagna could kick jerusalem cafe's collective ass.

Yeah, yeah, I've been to both JERUSALEM CAFE and JERUSALEM BAKERY. They were alright. I like the grocery section of BAKERY, as well as the "laid back" atmosphere. Anyone been to this other mediterranean place, ILIKI CAFE (6431 N Crosby Ave, KCMO)?

I think the Iliki was started by the guy who originally opened that crap yuppie restaurant on 39th street the Tribal Grill. But I might have it confused with another place. AS far as mediterranean goes there's a place on Broadway across the street from Apple Market that's really good, I think way better than either Jerusalem, but it's about the same price. Sol Azteca on SW Blvd has mexican vegetarian combos that aren't too pricy. Other than that, pizza is always a good option.
Speaking of pizza does anyone know which pizza places in KC use meat/broth in their sauce?
I know that Imo's does.

a papa john's pizza with no cheese and meat is indeed vegan. don't get thin crust though. for some reason that's not vegan...
