Hi guys~
We're a avidly DIY psych-folk songwriters' collective from Baltimore. We do our shows in our city at home and at the cca space (http://www.ccspace.org/). When we go out on tours we like to stick with and support the DIY ethic so I'm here trying to get some help...
We're looking to book June 3rd -- we'll be rolling through that day so it would be really rad if anyone could help us out with a place to play... we're living room, bedroom, apartment volume friendly and can also do louder shows as well. basically, we're super flexible and can be as quiet as is neccesarry.
you can listen to us on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/waxandwane/).. you can read more about us and listen to more things at our website (http://www.arischenck.com/wax&wane/).
here's a snippet from a bio...
"At first a song writing collaboration between two original members turned song writer’s collective, Wax & Wane eventually evolved into a more formal performing band in Baltimore during the winter of 2003 and settled on a consistent roster of four members. On the band’s first self-released EP, aptly named Winter, was a collection of 9 songs evenly written and led by each member of the group, a precedent for Wax & Wane backed up on their latest recordings. Winter was well accepted by its limited listening audience and drew reviews such as, “…nine kinda creepy song snapshots, like blurry Polaroids full of spring colors and smiling faces and something just not quite right about them” -Baltimore City Paper. The band’s songwriting is very organic and fluid, inspired by nature et cetera. Wax & Wane draws elements of it’s own sound from the lo-fidelity folk movement of past American artists as well as from more staple performers of the mid-century folk revival that came out of Britain.
Wax & Wane has toured extensively and regularly and has shared the stage with many notable acts such as, Little Wings (K Records), Tara Jane O’Neil (Quarterstick), Mirah (K Records), Karl Blau (K Records), Viking Moses (Marriage Records), Red Hunter (Whiskey & Apples)."
THANKS & PEACE!
