Howdy, Intro. Lost my mind and moved to K-City from Portland, OR, and Oakland, CA, and want to know what the fuck is going on here. I live in an awesome spooky warehouse/flat by the train tracks with a friend from the west coast, and we want new friends who want to do shit. We're thinking about some bike welding projects and soem other random activities with trash and music. Questions... Where's cheap/free coffee! Where are the 24 hr restaurants, cool alleys, distros, broken copiers, anarchists, shows, FNB, where are the punks of this town? Rants: When I go out dumpstering, nobody's beaten me there! theres no friendly graffiti! Fuck your cops! I'm the only kid on a bike who isn't sponsered by motorola! Conclusion: I'll quit cryin, but it would be nice to find some weirdos who wanna hang out. We have a fucking awesome space with tools and 3 untuned pianos and I'll foodstamp us up some ice cream and coffee while we take this place over, Hart.

All the good DIY punk shows in KC are at the MoMo gallery (19th and Locust, in the Crossroads art district.) Go to THE BODY show on Saturday, October 8th. Pretty much every punk in the city will be there.

24 hour restaurants: chubbie's on broadway, and pancho's on main are always good. FNB is at the corner of westport and broadway every sunday at 4pm.

my vote goes to nichol's lunch as far as 24 hour restaraunts. they don't have much vegetarian/vegan stuff (toast...salad...etc) but that server (maybe the owner) with the pony tail is, without a doubt, the best scrabble player i've ever encountered.
