When the originally sincere band name turns ironic, it's usually a bad thing, but I've heard good things about the "reunion" or whatever.
I dunno, I just don't like the idea of these old bands reforming period. It always reeks of "cash in." I would have wanted to see the Subhumans, though.

personally i'm totally stoked, the adolescents have been one of all time favorites forever and i never thought i would have a chance to see them so this rules. and i've heard some live takes of their reunion stuff and its rad.
as far as bands that reunite to cash in, it depends. these guys have broken up, reformed and toured about a million times so its not like they were a band that happened, broke up and then decides to get back together way 25 years later out of the blue. also as far as i know almost all of these guys have never stopped playing music and have all played in various projects and bands (some with a few of the members together) non-stop. same deal with the subhumans, the lost one member and then turned into citizen fish and kept playing all the way through to 99 or so when the subhumans decided to get back together and do some recordings.
i guess it shouldn't be too hard to understand that if you spend years with a close group of friends playing music then break up that at some point you might just enjoy hanging with your old friends and playing music again. but of course its much more punk in a predictable way just to say sell out.
the dead kennedy's without jello on the other hand was pure cash-in crap. no denying that.

Yeah, it definitely depends how the individual band goes about it. Some bands reform with all members and try to play huge, expensive shows like rock star assholes.
I don't know if they ever broke up or if they just kept making music for a long time, but Slaughter and the Dogs were pretty good when I saw them a few years ago.
