any local bands want to be on a comp?

V/A: "Worker's Comp" Cassette

Before all of this information, I think it just needs to be said that I would feel like an ass if I didn't give bands from the area a chance to be on this compilation. I can't name any other bands on the tape right now, but I can say they are really great political punk bands, and having some KC bands on this may or may not open up some new doors for those bands. Anyways...

This is a work-themed compilation, that I plan on releasing through my cassette label, Wage Slave Tapes, sometime later this summer. I am looking for interested bands that would like to submit tracks for the tape. Since it is a work-themed (anti-work/pro-worker) compilation, the songs must be about the issue at hand. I am generally looking for punk (i.e., hardcore, grind, punk, crust, thrash) bands to be on the compilation, but if you have something that doesn't go along with this, I still might reconsider. I can say now, the majority of the bands that will be on will be personally asked to submit by myself, but I'm sure I will end up with a few extra spots. Space may be limited. Along with this 20-something band tape (professionally duplicated, not home-dubbed) I plan on creating a zine that contains not only the song lyrics, but explanations from the bands submitting, submitted stories and columns, and perhaps a themed comic. i was originally planning on making it a 12", but more music can fit on a cassette, so its a choice i had to make.

no way. i'm way in favor of cassettes. i'm glad people are still doing them. i'd volunteer dick cheney's dick for this except we don't have any songs about work and we wouldn't be able to record any songs for a while.

i got a little 30-second rager submitted from figure 70. outlaw might submit something also. the songs don't have to be very long, they just have to speak about the issue.

uh. this is stereotypical of me and i wasn't going to post but uh. i know some local underground hip-hop heads that might. CES Cru has a song that i know about... Deep Thinkers and SoundsGood too. depends on how homogenous you want your tape to be.

i'm not against the idea of having non-punk music on here, i would have to hear the songs first for everything obviously. do you have links to these songs?
