Hey Greg, I'm Will. I guess I should change my name since there's a guy named Will who's more well known and is ten years older than me, but I don't think I'm the subject of conversation enough for that to be too confusing. I don't go to a lot of the shows at the MoMo, but I'm into a lot of old hardcore type stuff... Anyway, I have a band called Sodomy Gang that is just now getting organized. We are the only band from North of the river (the suburbs) that plays anything resembling thrash or grind... Not metalcore/moshmetal/fauxcore.
I don't know why I'm writing this, as you probably won't see me around a lot. I guess I just felt like writing on a message board.
I'd gladly send you my band's demo or a link to our purevolume if you emailed me (baseheadsuicide@gmail.com). I don't feel comfortable spamming, though.

I didn't mean to start the topic of "punk" in the Northland... I meant that there aren't many bands up here that play non-metal/pop-punk stuff. We're all still in high school.

hey northland will!
you have no idea how hyped i am about northland punx. anyway...what high school you go to? i went to NKC high. went to summer and night classes and winnetonka and oak park. ha!
anyway...if you ever come out to a show (i would suggest you check out THE BODY show if your into that heavy shit) PLEASE introduce yourself to me (brown guy, black glasses, black hair, overly developed eyebrows, also developing quite the afro these days...you cant miss me....in fact i will be running the door at that show)
if its a matter of getting a ride down there....i know of some kids from up there that might be coming. maybe you could catch a ride w/ them?
ok...i'll stop bugging you.

Yeah, I was planning on seeing the Body/Asschapel, and I'll definitely introduce myself. I've seen you around a lot and have a copy of Anxiety Attack's demo.
When it comes to rides, I usually just take the bus. I don't know that many people in this town or my area with the same interests (the closest I can find are some kids at Oak Park who like what I could classify as "okay" metal). The problem with that is that the bus stops running after 6:30 or whatever. But I'll for sure be at the Body show.
Oh yeah, I went to NKCHS for my freshman and sophmore years. Now I go to Oak Park (were they always the "Northmen"? Didn't the Nazis idolize "Northmen"? The whole school seems kinda based around furthering the Aryan Agenda).
So I'll stop bugging you now!

HEY FUCK A BUNCH OF THE NORTHLAND! just kidding, but I don't live there anymore. I still work up here. funny that we all mention it because I am at work as we speak. laz, I've been considering having a serious northland get-together at pizza street or perkins or waffle house or something equally "northland-y"

I know the subject kind of changed, but I'd figure I'd chime in. Though, most of you know me anyways. I'm Grant. I've lived almost my entire life in Kansas, with the exception of a house in Denver I lived at for almost a year. I love it here, the only tattoo I have is of Kansas. I'm originally in Salina, but have been predominitly in Lawrence since 2002. I used to live at the Black Cat Collective when I first moved here. I've been in bands like Six Inch Voice, Rhapsody of the Dead, Sabot, Laid to Rest, Kill Yourself, and Oroku. I'm bandless now, but looking for anyone to play music with. I like a wide variety. I don't do much now except make phillies for a living and watch borrowed TV show DVD's. I love reading (especially about freemasons and ghosts), ghost hunting, and riding bikes. I think everyone I've met with any association to KC are some of my favorite people in the world, and though I'm usually very drunk when I see them, I'm always super excited. I guess drinking helps alleviate that aforementioned anxiety at times. If I know you or will probably know you in the near future my myspace thingie is www.myspace.com/doublebourbon though I usually don't check it but once a week or so.
