lets try this again since last time it erased itself.
i feel like kind of an outsider compared to all of you guys. so it would be nice to get to know some more people so its not just a bunch of faces and names i don't really know. here we go:
i am greg. i'm 20 years old, and still live with my parents in blue springs. and i don't really like it (blue springs, that is. but living at home is nothing to rave about either). i am currently unemployed because i can't hold a steady job, and i also love records. i have been straight edge for four years, vegetarian for four months, and am fueled by punk, politics and literature. my girlfriend and i have been looking for a place near westport lately, but the move probably won't happen anytime soon. i'd like to get out there and participate in more events (food not bombs, etc) but i have this thing... i guess you could call it anxiety at times, that makes me really shy around large groups of people or strangers and turns me into even more of an outsider. i wasn't always that way, and it only happens sometimes. is that too personal? i dunno. but i said it anyways. i run a little "label" if you want to call it that, releasing records from bands i like since i don't have a band of my own. thats about it for an introduction. i'd like to know more about the regular posters here and all that, even though the internet is so impersonal. so thats about it.
ps: listen to sin dios!

Also, selling stuff at a show is a good way to hit it off with like minded people. Like a little distro with records you like or stuff from your label. It's a sure fire way to at least interact with kids who like similar music via them buying stuff.

yeah i understand the anxiety. theres definitely reason why im in a band called anxiety attack for sure.
yeah but for real. the kids around here are some of the nicest kids ive met in the country. and thats f'real... so just start talkin. just like anything else it takes time to meet people and get used to em or whatever. when i used to do FNB back in the day or when i started going to shows back in the daily grind days...i felt the same way. so yknow its cool.
yeah i'm laszlo. i do some shit. i know OF you greg. but dont think ive ever offically met you in person. do it next time! i'm the guy with black curls and eyebrows and glasses. i'm brown too. so that narrows it down. i'm not issac or patrick or nick or george. so come say hi to me next time dude!
also sin dios is dope. i'm all about that spanish/latino hc. i think i checked out your myspace when you became friends with GW5 once....i think i saw that your into ekkaia too right?! that ish is dope!!! it seems that a lotta spanish and latino bands are largely ignored... it may have a lot to do with distribution. i dunno.

hi i am flannery. i live in kansas city and i have veritable shit-tons of hometown pride. i like food, cooking, sewing, knitting, drawring, reading, and writing. i like music too, i do some shrieking for when good robots go bad. i would like to think i'm nice. i will probably watch movies or play board games with you. i'm kind of obsessed with my cat?

hey greg,
i play guitar in anxiety attack (everyone else has already said so i don't think i need to), listen to ridiculous amounts of records, drink lots of coffee, read a lot, run big brown shark records, wrestle my cat and other stuff.
it's true the kc kids are nicest bunch of bastards i've ever met, i stand behind them 100%. i'm animal friendly for about 8 years nowworked on FNB for a hot minute back in 97/early 98, and am a bad conversationalist but that doesn't mean if we meet i won't still try and tell you about a bunch of records and stuff anyway.
come on in to the city, it's good here.

thanks everyone who has responded so far. i think i'm going to try to hit up the latterman show on the 6th, if i don't make it then i'll definitely be at asschapel on the 8th.
laszlo: i remember talking to you briefly on AIM sometime in 2003, but i think the extent of it was just appreciating moss icon. i think maybe native nod came up too. i'll have to introduce myself next time i am around, we can exchange knowledge on spanish hc.
and also to clarify, not that its needed. its not necessarilly that i am "new" to all of this, its just that i have been dormant from attending shows for far too long. i have been to maybe three in the entire year of 2005. and its about time i get back into things.

i'm matt. i don't have an account on here still. i don't talk to people normally but it's nothing against them, i just don't have anything to say. i sing and play guitar in The Hospital (http://www.myspace.com/thehospitalband, if you want), and i was in culture camp and anne emergency, which are, respectively, definitely and maybe broken up. i do some art and writing that i try to avoid showing to people. i live at / go to the kansas city art institute right now.
good work putting out those records.

im will, im the old guy at the shows (27), i sing in get wild five and i used to do thousandaire (yeah that short guy who played with a drum machine). i moved here 4 years ago from cleveland and didnt know a single person. now i know a bunch and i can say its due to #1 The Laz (nicest guy ever) #2 starting my music project. im also a grad student at UMKC and would say if your anxiety is bad enough that you can come to shows go check out a counselor or something, it can make an unbelieveable difference in a pretty short amount of time. thats my PSA for today. hit up my site www.professionalfriends.org thats my shameless self-promotion for the day.

"SO JUST LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF... MY NAME IS HUMPTY! PRONOUNCED WITH AN -UMPTY!"
