Hm... I'd have to say Die Kreuzen... Also, do Koro count as Midwestern? I've just recently internet pirated their EP, and that stuff is crazy. When it comes to melodic stuff, Zero Boys deserve to be up there with DOA and Scream. AoF are great, too, though, I just haven't heard that much of them.

Yeah, I didn't know if Memphis counted or not since I never hear anyone talking about Koro in the same sense as Big Boys or the Dicks.

the first two N.O.T.A. 7" are great midwest stuff straddling between hc/punk.
no shit on die kreuzen. "pain" and "sick people" from their s/t LP are unstoppable.
AOF is super underrated, it's true they get respect but not appreciation. they should be one of those bands that's in the classic gotta have it category but for some reason they never have been. "american dreams" is one of the best hardcore songs ever, groundbreaking too, the hardcore scene didn't catch onto that sound until almost ten years later. not to mention "false security" "what we want is free" and all the others.

i'm going to have difficulties answering this because i don't know what is actually considered the midwest. i definitely agree with DIE KREUZEN. the lp is incredible, but i find the "cows and beer" ep boring. i also agree with NONE OF THE ABOVE and ARTICLES OF FAITH as well. by the way, did you know that FUCKED UP is in fact named for the N.O.T.A. song and not actually getting fucked up. all the dudes (and dudette) in the bands are straight-edge.
if ohio is also considered part of the midwest, i'll add the NECROS. i definitely don't hear that many people talk about that band.

Allow me. The following states encompass the Midwest: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.

Allow me. The following states encompass the Midwest: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. i think it can be argued that arkansas is midwestern. at least part of it.

arkansas is thee dirty uncle of the south reaching out trying to get a look up the pants-leg of the midwest.
i'm not sure if oklahoma counts either. maybe.

p.s. i recognize that if oklahoma doesn't count as the midwest it may discredit my vote for NOTA.
i suggest that oklahoma be considered as limbo, or maybe like a wild card in uno.
